KETV is taking a look at the roughest spots on roads the city of Omaha is responsible for. The Hearst data journalism team dug into International Roughness Index data from the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics as of 2023, the most recent year available. Omaha City Engineer Austin Rowser said the city does not use the IRI data because it measures ride quality, not road quality. But he said all of the top three spots identified in the analysis are scheduled for improvements.

An Omaha mom says Food and Drug Administration approval of a drug intended to address her son's rare condition can't wait. Jordan Karle's 1-year-old son Jaylen experienced heart failure from birth because of Barth syndrome, a deadly, rare condition estimated to affect around 150 people in the U.S.The FDA denied approval of the drug, elamipretide, last week, but gave a pathway to approval, according to the drug manufacturer and the Barth Syndrome Foundation.
