A demonstration against President Donald Trump's administration aiming to bring together people from across the Council Bluffs-Omaha metropolitan area is planned Saturday at River's Edge Park. The rally is planned to run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, said Melissa DeLong of Council Bluffs, who chairs Southwest Iowa's Local Crow chapter of Indivisible, a national grassroots organization founded in 2016 in reaction to Trump's election to his first nonconsecutive term as president.

A Council Bluffs history museum will be one of several featured locations in the next episode of "Road Trip Iowa" from Iowa PBS. Destinations along the western stretch of the Lincoln Highway Heritage Byway will be featured on the episode, according to a news release. The episode will premiere Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and will be rebroadcast Saturday, June 14, at 9 a.m.The RailsWest Museum will be featured in the episode.

Malvern will host a ballet performance Saturday evening along with family friendly science and arts activities. Ballet Des Moines announced it will bring its full company of professional dancers to downtown Malvern on Saturday for a Summer STEM Tour event running 5 to 8 p.m., according to a news release. The science, technology, engineering and math as well as arts activities run 5 to 6:30 p.m., at which point the ballet will take the stage.

The DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge is inviting the public to a trio of special weekend events. This Saturday, a fishing clinic led by a refuge volunteer who is a certified instructor. Registration is not required, according to a news release. Saturday is Free Fishing weekend so residents of Iowa, and children under 16 of Nebraska, can fish without a license. The clinic begins at 9 a.m. at the South Gate Recreation Area of DeSoto Lake.
