Katy Murtaugh was in search of a woman she’d never met, but whose mannerisms, unique gait and family she’d been eager to get to know for years. In the Gunnison Valley, alcohol and drug addiction lingers in the lives of local residents. In an effort to reach more people, the community’s recovery network, GRASP, is attempting to streamline resources for people struggling with addiction in the first quarter of the year. GRASP, housed within Gunnison County Juvenile Services, is a group of community partners addressing gaps in care for substance use disorder, prevention, treatment and recovery.
