Nagpur: Maharashtra's forests will be home to 34 endangered vultures, courtesy the Jatayu Conservation Breeding Centre (JCBC) in Pinjore, Haryana. On World Earth Day, these endangered vultures were brought to Maharashtra under a rewilding initiative and will be released in three different forest reserves of Vidarbha. According to Kishore Rithe, director of Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), this group of vultures include 20 long-billed and 14 White-rumped vultures.

Nagpur: With scenes more exciting than a thriller movie, a village near Butibori on Monday witnessed an hour-long dramatic chase and physical rescue of a full-grown tiger by officials. Villagers in Shindivihir, under Butibori Forest Range, spotted a tiger sitting the in a shallow nullah for a long time. Forest officials along with a rescue team from Transit Treatment Centre (TTC) reached the spot around noon, and a crucial decision had to be taken.
