Happy Sunday, to all the father figures out there. We hope you enjoy your day!Temperatures will be a tad cooler than earlier in the week with the 70s and 80s for highs. Skies will have trouble clearing throughout the day as showers and a few storms are expected. On and off showers will keep temperatures closer to average throughout the afternoon and early evening hours. Sunday evening into Monday should keep to the cooler tones, with the beginning of the workweek starting off well below our normals.

Happy Friday the 13th everyone!A day known for bad luck has arrived along with some showers and storms for Baltimore. Coincidence, I think not!A few areal flood warnings are something to look out for this evening and with luck being as it is today, you may want to take some extra precautions. Although it seems like Friday the 13th is a rare occurrence, the way our calendars work, they are actually quite common. YIKES.

A look into May's rain summary: In the National Weather Service's data collection from Baltimore Washington International Airport, we see rainfall amounts for the month of May. At the bottom, we have the 'sum' of the month's rain and below the 'normal' amount of rainfall. Last month we received a total of 6.85 inches of rain. Throughout May's first couple of days, rain was hit or miss, but we can see towards the middle of the month a big surge in rainfall.

Good morning, happy Sunday! We are entering a new month and it looks like June will start off with drier conditions. The rain may have moved on, but a little moisture still lingers. Overnight and into the early hours of our Sunday we could see some patchy fog develop. With this, drive carefully if you are headed out before the noon hour. Temperatures will climb throughout the afternoon, with highs expected near averages. Sunshine will cut through most of the moisture, with partly sunny skies expected.

Following recent rainfall, we are seeing our drought conditions start to ease, especially in the central portions of the state. Our latest drought monitor has reduced the severe drought that was clipping 4 Maryland counties down to 3. Baltimore, Carroll and Harford are the remaining counties in severe drought status, but only portions of each county. We have seen well over an inch of rain accumulation since the beginning of the workweek and actually expect more before the start of June.
