SEATTLE — Washington state residents are running out of time to get REAL ID compliant, as an estimated 19% of travelers nationwide are still not ready.
Beginning May 7, U.S. residents must present a REAL ID-compliant form of identification during security screenings to board domestic flights.
According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), 81% of travelers nationwide are ready for REAL ID enforcement.

BURIEN, Wash. — Two men are facing kidnapping and attempted murder charges in King County after they allegedly kidnapped and tortured a Burien woman in January. According to court documents, King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) deputies responded to a welfare check at an apartment complex in Burien on Jan. 21 after someone called 911 to report that her neighbor had heard a woman screaming and yelling for help from the parking lot.

SEATTLE — Washington state began accepting applications Wednesday for its e-bike rebate program. The WE-bike program offers $4 million in instant rebates to help Washington residents purchase e-bikes and related equipment. The program is state funded through the Climate Commitment Act. Applications will be accepted from 7 a.m. Wednesday through April 23. Those eligible for a rebate include Washington state residents at least 16 years old.

SEATTLE — A man is in critical condition after his car plunged 12 feet from a parking structure Sunday morning in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood. According to Seattle police, the collision happened in the 800 block of 1st Avenue North. Seattle police first posted about the incident at 9:49 a.m. Detective Brian Pritchard told KING 5 the driver plunged from a parking structure, landed upside down on an apartment patio, and needed to be extricated from his vehicle.

GREENWATER, Wash. — An earthquake struck northeast of Greenwater Sunday morning. The 3.71 magnitude earthquake was registered at 8:15 a.m. 6.8 miles east northeast of Greenwater, near the Kelly Butte Lookout, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The USGS said it measured at a depth of 5.7 miles. KING 5 viewers reported feeling it in Enumclaw and near the southwest entrance of Mount Rainier National Park.

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Pierce County voters will decide whether or not to consolidate two fire districts in the upcoming special election. Voters will either approve or reject two ballot measures merging Graham Fire & Rescue and Orting Valley Fire & Rescue into Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. The merger would create one fire protection district for emergency and medical services, a move supporters of the measures say would improve response times.

A suspected DUI driver struck a trooper's vehicle while he was tending to a separate collision on Interstate 5 in Everett Saturday morning, authorities said. According to the Washington State Patrol, the initial single-vehicle collision happened just after 5 a.m. when a car went off the roadway on northbound I-5 just south of the 112th park and ride. The driver reportedly struck a guardrail. There were no injuries.
