The digital version of CDN launched on January 24, 2022, followed by the release of its first weekly print edition on March 2, 2022. This newspaper is part of Cascadia Newspapers LLC, which is entirely owned and supported by David Syre, a fourth-generation resident of Whatcom County. Our weekly print edition is available at various newsstands and retail outlets, sent by mail to subscribers, and accessible as a print-replica e-edition every Wednesday morning. Last year, Western was penalized for withholding sexual assault records, the result of a lawsuit filed by alumni Erasmus Baxter, Asia Fields and Julia Furukawa. The three alumni were awarded $111,780.
