The station is owned by Tegna Inc., which also owns KONG, an independent station licensed in Everett, channel 16. Both stations operate from the same studios situated at the Home Plate Center in Seattle's SoDo area. The transmitter for KING-TV is positioned in the Queen Anne neighborhood of the city.

Two people were killed in the shooting and four others were wounded.
