BELL COUNTY, Texas — Several Bell County cities are under strict water restrictions this week as the Bell County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (WCID #1) enters Stage 4 of its Water Conservation Plan to allow for major infrastructure upgrades. The district announced the heightened restrictions in late May as part of a regional effort to improve the long-term reliability of the multi-city water supply system, which serves more than 265,000 people.

MORGANS POINT RESORT, Texas — A bee attack over the weekend in Morgan’s Point Resort sent three people to the hospital, including a police officer, a firefighter and a civilian who was suspended in a tree when the swarm struck. Morgan's Point Resort Fire Rescue Chief Taran Vaszocz said the incident happened just before noon Saturday, when crews initially responded to what was believed to be a routine medical call for a person stung by a bee.
