BRENHAM, Texas (KBTX) - Brenham police are searching for a 15-year-old girl who went missing on Wednesday, May 22. Julise Martinez was last seen in the 500 block of Green Street in Brenham. Authorities believe she could still be in the local are or may have traveled out of Washington County. She is 5′2″, 110 pounds and has black hair. “She may be with person(s) in violation of Texas Penal Code 25.06,” according to the missing person flyer.

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A College Station woman was sentenced to 40 years in prison for severely injuring an infant in 2022. On Thursday, Berta Lopez-Vasquez pleaded guilty to injury to a child causing serious bodily injury. Police reports say Lopez-Vasquez shook and threw a baby, less than a year old, against a wall when the child would not stop crying.

Navasota water well tests positive for E. coli

NAVASOTA, Texas (KBTX) - A water well sample from Navasota tested positive for E. coli bacteria on Friday, according to the City of Navasota Public Water System. The city says drinking water remains safe to consume. The city says the well was immediately removed from use and will remain shut down until it tests negative for the bacteria. The city estimates that will take about 10 days.

BRENHAM, Texas (KBTX) - The Washington County District Attorney’s Office has filed more charges against the driver who drove a stolen 18-wheeler into the Texas Department of Public Safety Brenham Office. Clenard Parker, 42, is now charged with felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public servant, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and criminal mischief.
