    ANDERSON-SHIRO, Texas (KBTX) - Anderson-Shiro CISD is dismissing early Tuesday, May 6, due to incoming severe weather. Students will be dismissed at 3 p.m., according to the district’s Facebook post. Car rider dismissal will start at 3 p.m., and buses will arrive at their stops about 25 minutes earlier than usual. At this time, no updates or changes have been provided for Wednesday.

    BRENHAM, Texas (KBTX) - After searching for almost 18 hours, the body of 10-year-old Devah Woods was recovered around 11 a.m. Tuesday, Brenham Fire Chief Mark Donovan confirmed. The Brenham Elementary third-grader was swept away after getting off the school bus around 4:30 p.m. Monday and walking home with her sibling. After a day of heavy rains, swift water had risen higher. Devah’s sibling was able to get to safety and got help immediately.

The legislation took years to reach the finish line as it faced fierce opposition from Democrats and rural Republicans. After an election that saw Gov. Abbott back primary candidates who would support his voucher plan, he finally got the legislation over the finish line.

    BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A man was taken to the hospital Friday morning after he was hit by a truck. Bryan police say the crash happened at the intersection of William Joel Bryan Parkway and Highway 6. The intersection is closed at this time and police expect it will be for an extended period as they investigate what happened. Police say the man was crossing the street where there wasn’t a crosswalk when a truck hit him, injuring his leg. The driver of the truck stopped after hitting the man.
