NAVASOTA, Texas (KBTX) - One person is in critical condition after a Sunday shooting in Navasota. Navaosta police say the shooting happened at a home in the 200 block of Fanthorp Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found a “large gathering,” including a male victim suffering from gunshot injuries. Any suspects had already fled the scene. The victim was taken to St. Joseph Health Grimes Hospital in Navasota but was later transferred by medical helicopter to a Houston-area hospital.

ANDERSON-SHIRO, Texas (KBTX) - Anderson-Shiro CISD is dismissing early Tuesday, May 6, due to incoming severe weather. Students will be dismissed at 3 p.m., according to the district’s Facebook post. Car rider dismissal will start at 3 p.m., and buses will arrive at their stops about 25 minutes earlier than usual. At this time, no updates or changes have been provided for Wednesday.
