    With the heat comes a renewed risk of storms, and we have plenty of heat this week. Thursday will be a beautiful day with sunshine and warm temperatures. The issue will be late Thursday night. All the unstable air of the day, our storm fuel, typically begins to subside overnight.

Recovering has been tough, but a Michigan group of storm chasers took it upon themselves to try and lessen the load. The group, called the Michigan Storm Chasers, has been making one heck of a name for itself over the past two years.

Based on the rate of the front, and any chances for storms to build, arrival of the line seems to come in from the southwest to the northeast at a bit of a slant.

    Severe weather is possible throughout southeast Michigan Sunday evening. Due to the heightened risk the NEXT Weather Team will be at our Alert Day levels, providing additional coverage on our livestream through the evening. A line of storms should form this afternoon to our southwest and race to the northeast at approximately 50 mph. Based on the current data, arrival times for the line of strong wind would be focused on the early evening hours.
