BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Town of Tonawanda secured $20 million in the state budget to make improvements to its raw water system, town supervisor Joe Emminger and state assemblyman Bill Conrad said Thursday. The state budget, some $254.3 billion, was passed by legislators late Thursday night. The raw water system maintains the River Road Industrial Corridor, which feeds into several facilities in the area. The facilities had been relying on raw water intakes from the old NRG Huntley on River Road.

(WIVB) — A Western New York health care company has filed charges against 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, alleging that the union misled workers in a social media post about company finances. The McGuire Group, which runs a number of health care facilities across the area, claimed that union leaders intentionally spread misinformation during labor negotiations in 2022.
