Bee City Canada is part of a North American movement to support pollinator protection, and part of their mission is to recognize and support municipalities, Indigenous communities, campuses, schools, and other organizations that are taking action to protect and raise awareness about pollinators. The Town of Georgina is working in partnership with the Sutton legion to construct a new cenotaph at Peace Park. Members of the Sutton legion approached the town asking for help to construct a new cenotaph that would honour veterans of not only the First World War, the Second World War and the Korean War, but also those who served in South Africa, Afghanistan and various UN peacekeeping initiatives.
