Seven acres of property at Hartmann Drive and 10th Street East in Waconia Township previously guided as industrial will have townhomes on it instead. Courthouse Lake in Chaska formed in the early 1900s when a clay pit mining operation hit groundwater level and the mine flooded. Now, over 100 years later a marine exploration team was in its deep waters looking for remnants of that operation. Divers from marine research and development firm Trident Sciences were in the lake this spring following rumors from the Twin Cities diving community about some mining equipment left in the lake.
