AUSTIN (WJON News) -- The end of the school year is here for most colleges and universities, and that means summer internship opportunities. Minnesota's Hormel Foods has 95 interns from 50 schools across the country joining them. One of those interns is St. Cloud State University Junior Spencer Lundberg. He will be interning in Production Management at Hormel's Willmar facility.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJON News) -- A St. John's Prep student has advanced to the semifinals of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Eighth grader Emmaline Bushman advanced through four additional rounds on Wednesday and is one of 57 students remaining.

WASHINGTON D.C. (WJON News) -- A local eighth grader has advanced in the Scripps National Spelling Bee taking place this week. On Tuesday, St. John's Prep's Emmaline Bushman advanced out the the first round of 243 contestants by correctly spelling the word chevre. ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- A local police department has added two new officers as part of a new initiative to reach their community in times of need. The St. Cloud Police Department (SCPD) has added two therapy dogs to help work with those who are experiencing a mental health crisis or may find a sense of calm in interacting with the animals. River and Laker started with SCPD in May and are both fully certified to work with officers on calls for service and community engagement events.
