Shell and Equinor have revealed the location of their Aberdeen headquarters after creating the UK’s largest oil and gas operator. The joint venture was announced in December, which meant the two firms would combine their UK North Sea assets. Shell’s senior vice president of UK Upstream, Simon Roddy confirmed the Silver Fin Building in Aberdeen as the future headquarters. The incorporated joint venture is predicted to produce more than 140,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

The managing director of Aberdeen estate agent FG Burnett is stepping down after nine years in his role. Richard Noble will be replaced by current head of agency Graeme Nisbet on May 1. Mr Noble first joined FG Burnett in 1997 as a director before becoming managing director in May 2016. He will continue with the company, focusing on providing advice to clients in the retail and leisure property sector.

A pair of Aberdeen equipment firms have been acquired in a multi-million-pound deal. Reftrade UK and Environstore manufacture custom shipping containers for the oil and gas sector. The pair have been bought by London-headquartered supplier Cargostore Worldwide in order to bolster its capabilities in supporting offshore projects. Cargostore’s first acquisition deal in its 30-year history will grow its staff figures to more than 20.
