On the day of their wedding, Ian Sinclair and John Pemble spent the morning pulling weeds. It was a fitting start for the rest of their lives together. Every year the Sydneysiders, who both enjoy ecotourism, uproot from their home to visit Lord Howe Island and take part in local conservation projects. Ecotourism champions sustainability, conservation and education when it comes to travel and there are more than 500 certified operators across the country.
