The 94-year-old Korean War veteran had just gotten electricity into his Tonalea, Arizona, home for the first time. The thing he was most excited about? Power tools. “I guess that was more important than his refrigerator,” said his daughter Rose Nelson with a laugh and she translated for him in Navajo during a visit by KSL-TV. But now, the laughter is gone.

SALT LAKE CITY — It has been a year since Santaquin Police Sgt. Bill Hooser was killed during a traffic stop along I-15. The man accused of running him over with a semi was back in court Wednesday as this case moves closer to trial. Related: Family calls Sgt.
