The aftermath of a crash at the Yarm School gates (Image: THE NORTHERN ECHO) The entrance of Yarm School has been ploughed into by a car for the second time in seven months - leaving a pile of rubble beside the school gates. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning (April 16) when a vehicle smashed into a brick wall off Yarm High Street.

La Piazza is opening soon in Yarm (Image: THE NORTHERN ECHO) Yarm’s newest Italian restaurant is coming “very soon” - with crews now down to the last few jobs in the former high street bank. Richmond restaurant La Piazza is preparing to open its second location in the old Barclays Bank, on Yarm High Street. Works have been ongoing for several months, with the front of the venue transformed and new windows and doors added, along with a sleek black exterior.

The cars were torched on the driveway of a home (Image: Picture: THE NORTHERN ECHO) Police have issued an update on an “arson attack” outside a Darlington home that saw two cars torched on a driveway. Emergency services were called to Durham Road , in Coatham Mundeville, on Monday after a Ford Ranger and Mercedes CLA were set ablaze just metres from the front door.

How Rituals could look - the chain's store at the Swindon Designer Outlet (Image: NEWSQUEST) A popular beauty brand is set to open a new store at Dalton Park Outlet. Cosmetics chain Rituals, which is known for its luxury home and body products, will be opening the doors at the County Durham shopping park on May 9. The brand, which already has stores in Newcastle, at the Metrocentre in Gateshead, and most recently at Teesside Park, is taking over a 2,593 sq ft unit at the site.
