LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Our skies are finally beginning to clear across the state as we officially start Meteorological Summer. Temps are chilly to kick off the day, with many in the 40s. Thanks to some sunshine, our skies will see temps in the low 70s by the afternoon. It’s a cool but sunny day across the commonwealth, and most are staying entirely dry as we wrap up the weekend. There are a few isolated chances far south in the state for our day.

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - We will see some isolated rain chances for our Saturday as we wrap up May. We start mainly cool with conditions in the upper 50s and low 60s. A slow warm will happen throughout the day, eventually reaching the low 70s by the afternoon. Wrap-around clouds will keep our skies feeling a bit humid for the day - but we have an isolated chance in our evening. Rain showers show up around dinnertime along the Mountain Parkway in eastern KY, turning a bit stronger after sunset.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Heavy rains and storms are in our forecast today, bringing in locally high water concerns and a damaging wind risk to wrap up our work week. Heavy rains are pushed in by a low-pressure system, with intense showers showing up in central and northern Kentucky as well as thunderstorms south of I-64. Take things slow this morning as the rains move through - there is a low-end severe risk out for folks in southern and eastern Kentucky as these thunderstorms fire up.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - More scattered shower chances in store for our Thursday with temps feeling a bit muggy. We start off the day with patchy fog - as a lot of moisture hangs around our skies. Temps are in the upper 50s and low 60s to start the day, slowly warming into the afternoon. Fog should mix out by the midmorning hours, giving us mainly cloudy skies. Some light rain showers are possible in the second half of the day, with temps warming well into the 70s.

Cheers to another Derby Day in Kentucky🏇 Shoutout to my family friends Mr. and Mrs. Leithauser - who always threw the best Derby Party, and gifted me this Julep Cup back when I graduated High School! I guess they knew back then I would one day call Kentucky home! https://t.co/ntub4LS10W
