WCHS-TV, also known as channel 8, is a television station in Charleston, West Virginia, that is affiliated with ABC. It is owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group and operates another station, Fox affiliate WVAH-TV (channel 11), under a local marketing agreement (LMA). Both stations share their studio facilities in Charleston, while WCHS-TV's transmitter is situated south of Scott Depot, West Virginia. Additionally, WCHS-TV serves as the primary ABC affiliate for viewers on the West Virginia side of the Marietta/Parkersburg television market, as that area does not have its own ABC station.

(WCHS) — A fugitive from Detroit was taken into custody in Wayne County, West Virginia, after deputies said a search revealed more than a quarter pound of fentanyl hidden in the man’s underwear. Two suspected cases of measles prompted testing and the holiday weekend delayed results of those tests, according to the Jackson County Health Department. “There is a suspicion when a patent presents certain symptoms that they may be a case of measles. These tests are ordered to be able to rule out measles,” the department posted to social media Monday.
