DENVER — More than 6,000 U.S. Postal Service employees were attacked by dogs while delivering the mail in 2024. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) said aggressive dog behavior is a common safety concern among its employees. Denver had 34 dog bite attacks last year, according to new USPS data. In 2024, Denver was the 10th worst city in the country for dog bites on mail carriers. Los Angeles had the most dog bite attacks in 2024 with 77 attacks.

DENVER — Another round of severe thunderstorms is possible Wednesday on the eastern plains of Colorado. Scattered severe thunderstorms move in Wednesday afternoon tracking northwest to southeast. The highest risk of severe weather Wednesday is in southeast Colorado, but a marginal risk is possible in the Denver area and northeast Colorado. Large hail, up to 1 inch in diameter, and heavy flooding rainfall are the biggest threats Wednesday although there is a chance for a brief tornado.

DENVER — David Adelman will be formally introduced as the head coach of the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. The 13th head coach in franchise history, Adelman was named head coach on May 22. Adelman was previously the team's interim head coach, beginning April 8 after Michael Malone was dismissed from the team. Kroenke Sports and Entertainment Vice Chairman Josh Kroenke will introduce Adelman at a press conference at 12 p.m. Wednesday at Ball Arena.

DENVER — Harm-reduction vending machines have been installed near three police stations. The Denver Police Department said Tuesday three vending machines dispense free Naloxone kits in order to combat fatal opioid overdoses. Similar in design to a newspaper vending machine, the vending machines are accessible 24/7 located outside the police stations, with no need to enter the buildings. The machines hold up to 75 Naloxone kits and will be restocked on a regular basis.
