Four years after Clous flashed a rifle during a virtual commission meeting, the county settled a federal lawsuit with the woman who was giving public comment when the weapon was shown. The Michigan Municipal Risk Management authority, a self-insurance pool that provides liability coverage for the county, is footing the $100,000 bill.

    TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- On Monday, multiple community organizations came together to clean, "the Pines." It's an area in Traverse City where people experiencing homelessness camp. It's going to be ongoing. Usually these things take more than one day to clean up. The city cleans the Pines seasonally and has done two cleanups a year for several years. "We have a number of volunteers from the community that come out and help," said Police Chief Matt Richmond.

    WEXFORD COUNTY, Mich. — Eight years after a devastating explosion at a Wexford County motel left then 13-year-old Brian Adams with severe burns, Adams, now a college student, is appealing a Michigan Appeals Court decision in his civil lawsuit. The lawsuit, initially filed in 2022, named several parties, including Adams' mother, the motel owners, and the Wexford County prosecutor.
