RENO, Nev. (KRNV) — Street Vibrations is considered one of the largest motorcycle festivals in the nation. If you have not heard the motorcycles rumble through town yet, you are likely to sometime this weekend. Every year, the Fall Rally draws more than 50,000 riders to the Reno Tahoe area during the last week of September for a celebration of music, metal and motorcycles. The event kicked off at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 21 and runs until Sunday, September 24.

The city of Reno has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and US Forest Service as part of the federal government’s effort to plant and maintain trees, combat extreme heat, and improve access to nature in cities across the nation. From 842 applications, the Forest Service selected 385 grant proposals, totaling $1 billion.

Washoe County School District (WCSD) is continuing to ask for community input on possible changes to school buildings in the area. They have been hosting regional conversations at schools throughout Washoe County to discuss the different possibilities for their Facilities Modernization Plan. “There are a variety of draft options that are being presented by our consultant. We’d like the community's input on the pros and cons of those,” said Adam Searcy, chief operating officer at WCSD.

STATELINE, Nev. (KRNV) — Officials from Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority, Visit Lake Tahoe and OVG360 celebrated the new Tahoe Blue Event Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 18. The new venue is owned by Visit Lake Tahoe and OVG360 is the manager and operator who will provide full-service venue management and hospitality.
