    The Compass School of Texas is preparing to host it’s second annual Compass in Bloom: Farmers Market on April 26. The annual event is open to the public, and aims to help students put their skills to the test in a real-world marketplace where they “sell handmade goods, market their creations and engage with the community.”Third grade students will provide sparkling water, dehydrated fruits and vegetables, energy-boosting health bars and homemade jams.

    The Plano Symphony Orchestra (PSO) will conclude the 2024-2025 season with a grand finale celebration on April 26 with pianist Alessio Bax and performances from the Plano Civic Chorus. Bax is a first-prize winner at the Leeds and Hamamatsu International Piano Competitions who has appeared with more than 150 orchestras. The Plano Civic Chorus, led by newly appointed artistic director and conductor Randy Hooper, is known for its diverse repertoire of new and traditional music.

    Earlier this week, Collin College women’s basketball player Alisha Nunley was named to the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Division I Women’s Basketball All-America First Team. Nunley, a guard, has scored 18 points per game with two 35-point games early in the season, landing her North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Year, All-Region V and All-Conference.
