MONTGOMERY, W.Va. (WOWK) — A man died Monday night while he was trying to negotiate a turn on a bridge, and fell off his motorized bike. That’s according to Montgomery Police Chief Paris Workman who says that the incident happened on the Montgomery Bridge a little before six o’clock. Witnesses told investigators said he was trying to head down the bridge towards Smithers when he took the turn too wide. He hit the barrier and then toppled over onto the road below.

CABELL COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — Cabell County’s prosecutor is asking a judge to halt the release of a woman who the West Virginia Parole Board has granted release. Prosecutor Jason Spears said in a court filing that Cherylethia “Bunny” Holmes has only served 13 and a half years for the murder charge for which she was convicted. On March 10, 2025, the West Virginia Parole Board granted her release for April 9, 2025.
