CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – Two young cyclists have been crowned the winners of the Juniors Road Races that took place in Charleston Sunday as part of the USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships. Action started early Sunday morning with fans lining the streets for the event. The Men’s Junior Road Race was up first, and for the top three racers, it all came down to the very last sprint down Kanawha Boulevard.

DUNBAR, WV (WOWK) – The Dunbar Civil Service Commission is asking why their investigations into use of force have not resulted in disciplinary action from city leaders. The Commission met on Monday evening, hoping to get clarity from city leaders when it comes to the resolutions of investigations into individual officers who have been involved in excessive force. This includes cases in which people have died while in Dunbar Police custody.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — Reports of damage from storms that moved through the region late Friday night into early Saturday morning are surfacing. Late Friday night strong winds, bouts of heavy rain, thunder and intense lightning persisted through the early morning hours of Saturday. The Cora Volunteer Fire Department in Logan reported several trees down, including at least one on top of a vehicle. The damage was reported in the Lee Subdivision near the Holden Exit.
