ASHLAND, KY (WOWK) — A road in Ashland is hut down after a truck hit powerlines in the area of the mall Wednesday. According to a post on the Ashland Police Department Facebook page, the incident is blocking both directions of Winchester Avenue and all lanes in front of the nearby mall. As a result, Central Avenue, Blackburn Avenue and US 52 are acting as alternate routes. AEP officials reportedly said that it would be a long time before the roads can be reopened.

MINFORD, OH (WOWK) — In response to the rise in vaping and phone usage at schools, Minford High School is implementing some new rules. “Like many high schools across the area, the state and the country, Minford High School has seen a rise in the occurrence of vaping, mostly in our restrooms. In addition, since Minford High School banned mobile phone usage during class, many students will sign out of class to the restroom to use their phone and in many cases meet up with friends in the restroom.
