The Commission met on Monday evening, hoping to get clarity from city leaders when it comes to the resolutions of investigations into individual officers who have been involved in excessive force. This includes cases in which people have died while in Dunbar Police custody.

LOGAN COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – A grandmother is now facing charges after her daughter and son-in-law were arrested for allegedly locking their daughter, who has autism, in a room. According to the criminal complaints, Joshua Moore, 35; Tiffany Moore, 32; and Cheryl Woody, 58, are each being charged with child neglect resulting in injury and maltreatment of a disabled child. The complaints said CPS was given an anonymous tip that the parents were locking their child in a bedroom where she wiped feces.

FLOYD COUNTY, KY (WOWK) – The case of three men facing charges in the June 202 death of 38-year-old Amber Spradlin is officially being moved to another county. In March, the defense for Michael “MK” McKinney III filed a motion to have the trial moved out of Floyd County. All parties approved, with the judge recommending Pike County for the location. However, the motion had to be refiled with the court, with both parties given two weeks to respond before they could proceed with the venue change.

Lawrence County Judge Andrew Ballard found Joshua Collins, of Huntington, guilty of numerous charges he was facing in the stabbing of South Point Elementary School Bill Christian in October 2024. Collins had waived his right to a jury trial, leaving the verdict to the judge. Sentencing for Collins was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 8.
