There was a time, not so long ago, where successful career growth was seen as strictly linear. Employees were expected to climb the '“'career ladder'”', from an entry-level position to a senior role, then to the manager, etc checking off an established set of accomplishments along the way. Today, that structure has changed and rightly so moving to an increased focus on the importance of personal and well-rounded growth.

I have a bit of an odd view when it comes to competition in business. You see, I don’t think I have any. Now, before you accuse me of all sorts of arrogance, let me explain. It’s not that I don’t recognise that there are other people out there offering the same things that I do, to the same potential clients, it’s that I don’t care. Firstly, there is more than enough business to go around. The proportion of the accessible market that I need to eat very nicely, thank you, is miniscule.
