    The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation has opened a new exhibition and will host a special reception at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. “Seminole Attire: History and Culture Through Design” will be on display through Dec. 31 and features a history of the Seminole people plus handcrafted outfit and doll figures from a private collection. Special guests at the reception will include members of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Refreshments will be served. The Winter Garden Heritage Museum is at 1 N.

    The Edgewood Children’s Ranch held its 41st Country Round-Up Dinner and Auction Friday, Oct. 11, at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center. Hundreds of guests donned Western hats, boots and jeans for this annual affair, which featured a reception, silent auction, dinner and live auction. The event helps fund the ranch’s many programs and services for at-risk children.

    The West Orange Junior Service League is hosting its 15th annual Spooky Sprint 5K Saturday, Oct. 19. This nighttime, family-friendly 5K is a great way to kick off the Halloween season. The race will be held in Oakland Park in Winter Garden. The event features a 5K run/walk, a kids fun run, trick-or-treating, festive activities, food trucks and a live DJ. There also will be prizes for the top runners, and various sponsors will be on hand to chat with attendees.
