LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington Police are investigating a fatal shooting on Wednesday night. Officials say the incident happened on the 3800 block of Nicholasville Road around 5:20 P.M. when they responded to a shots fired call. Police say when they arrived they found a male victim with a gunshot. Authorities say the victim was declared deceased at the scene.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — An exciting announcement in  Lexington on Wednesday as the Breeders’ Cup World Championships are returning to Lexington’s Keeneland Racetrack in 2026. The Breeders’ Cup has been held at Keeneland Race Course three other times, the first in 2015 the second in 2020, and the most recent in 2022. Dating back to 1984, featuring 14 races, in the span of 2 days with a purse of $34 million. This year it will be held at Del Mar on Oct 31, 2025 – Sat, Nov 1, 2025.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — An accident involving a police cruiser shut down a part of Man O’War Boulevard and Crosby Drive. Officials say, the accident happened at the outer loop of Man O’ War Boulevard at Crosby Drive, traffic was diverted to Tates Creek Road. Authorities say a police cruiser was involved in the accident, the officer and the occupant of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The road was later re-opened.

ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Following a walk-out on Monday, by dozens of rowan county high school students in protest of their principal Jordan Mann, officials with the school tell us he has been reassigned to other duties for the remainder of the school year. Officials say an acting principal will be named shortly. The walk-out on Monday, stemmed from a civil lawsuit naming Mann, that’s according to The Courier Journal.
