MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Three area teams are still alive in the WIAA Girls State Soccer Tournament. Madison West will play Hartland Arrowhead on Thursday in Division 1, Sauk Prairie will play Brookfield Central on Friday in Division 2, and Madison Edgewood will play Kiel on Friday at 1:30 in Division 3. No. 1 seed Edgewood will make their eighth appearance at State under head coach Chris Martinelli. The Crusaders have outscored postseason opponents 25-5 so far.

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WMTV) - No. 2 seed Sun Prairie East lost 7-2 to no. 7 seed Muskego in the WIAA D1 State Baseball Quarterfinals. Muskego scored two solo homers in the fifth inning to make it 4-0. Cam Glusick had a bases clearing double in the fifth inning to make it 4-2. He finished with one hit and two RBIs. Muskego out hit SPE 11-6. Joey Tamboli pitched for 4.1 innings, allowed eight hits and four runs. Grayson Uttech relieved him and pitched 2.2 innings, allowed a trio of hits and equal runs.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Longtime Wisconsin volleyball assistant Annemarie Hickey will leave the program for an assistant coaching job with LOVB Madison. Hickey was a libero for the Badges from 2010-2013 and was a captain of the 2013 team that played in the National Championship. Hickey joined the Badgers’ staff for the 2014-2015 season as a volunteer assistant, then became the technical coordinator in 2017, and was named an assistant coach and director of scouting and player development in 2022.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WMTV) - The Madison Night Mares lost 9-8 to the Wausau Ignite on Sunday evening. Hilary Blomberg scored a two-run home run in the first to put Madison up 2-0. After the Ignite tied the game, Reganne Bennett had a three-run home run to put Madison on top. The Ignite tied, then took the 6-5 lead later in the game. Madison Ava Carroll re-tied the game in the fourth off her first homer of the year, but Wausau had three-straight runs to make it 9-6.

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) - Waunakee beat Kettle Moraine 9-8 in the WIAA D1 Boys State Lacrosse Final. Justin Sawicki had five goals and an assist. Adrian Millian had a goal and two assists. This game went back and forth in the scoring. Kettle Moraine scored one minute into the game and Waunakee answered with Sawicki’s first goal, but the Lasers lead 3-2 at the end of the first. The game was tied 4-4 at halftime. The Warriors lead 5-4 at the end of the third.
