When the school board meets on Tuesday, it will consider the recommendation that has a projected $1.2 million increase. The district had a $1.3 million increase in insurance costs ahead of the 2024-25 school year.

WHITEWATER - The Whitewater Common Council on Tuesday night extended its school resource officer agreement with the Whitewater Unified School District through Oct. 30 after Superintendent Caroline Pate-Hefty threatened to not renew the current agreement that's set to expire on June 30. In an April 9 memo to Whitewater Police Chief Dan Meyer, Pate-Hefty suggested that the school district might bid out a school resource officer contract to other area police departments or law enforcement services.
