Sam Parkington (Image: Lancashire Police) A SHOP worker suffered a fractured jaw when he was punched by a customer high on drink and drugs. Blackburn magistrates heard Sam Parkington had no recollection of the incident but handed himself in after a still from CCTV was published on social media by the police. The victim of the attack needed a titanium plate inserted in his jaw and said he experienced “excruciating” pain.

Blackburn Magistrates' Court (Image: Anthony Moss) A man took photographs of a school girl and then digitally superimposed them onto pornographic images. Blackburn magistrates heard some of the images were taken by Warren Gardner when the girl was walking home from school. Gardner, 44, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to making pseudo-photographs of a child. He was committed on bail to be sentenced on May 13 at Preston Crown Court.

An example of a pitbull dog (Image: Chris Yandell) Police who attended an East Lancs address found a blood-covered pit bull dog in a rusty cage. Blackburn magistrates heard there were two large wrenches, also covered in blood, in the cage at the Baxenden property, but Dean Tytler denied using them to hit the dog. Tytler, 29, of Alliance Street, Baxenden, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and having custody of a fighting dog.

Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Lyndon Kershaw-Calvert was identified as being one of those involved in the sexually explicit exchanges.

Blackburn Magistrates' Court (Image: Nq/LT) A man kicked a fellow hostel resident in the back, causing him to fall down the stairs. Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Paul Hartley then said he was going to stab the victim and take a hammer to his head. Hartley, 57, of Mayfield Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting David Woodward on March 7. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £26 victim surcharge.
