    A man was found dead in the water at Moss Landing in Monterey County after a fight apparently broke out over a boat crash. On Wednesday morning, Monterey County sheriff’s deputies received a report that two boats had collided at the Moss Landing Harbor. Witnesses said that one boat operator climbed onto the other boat and “a physical confrontation occurred,” the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

    Almost 50 years after a Bay Area high school teacher was stabbed to death while cleaning her classroom for the summer break, her killer has been named. On June 16, 1978, Diane Peterson, a 26-year-old English teacher at Branham High School in San Jose, was stabbed in the chest in the school corridor. Peterson ran, screaming, across the campus after the attack, as her assailant fled.
