San Francisco Giants player Tyler Fitzgerald broke out of a slump in a big way on Monday — and said he had Giants legend Barry Bonds to thank for helping him. Fitzgerald led the charge offensively in the Giants’ 10-4 win over the Phillies on Monday night. The big moment came in the second inning, when Fitzgerald crushed a three-run homer as part of a six-run inning.

Just a day after the end of the NCAA Tournament, the Cal men’s basketball team is reportedly adding the son of a Basketball Hall of Famer in the transfer portal. Justin Pippen, the son of former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen Sr., is joining the Bears as a transfer from Michigan, according to multiple reports. On3 was first to report Pippen’s commitment to come to Berkeley. Pippen Sr. is considered one of the greatest defensive players in NBA history.

The 49ers have spent most of March shedding salary by cutting or trading players off of their roster, with many reporters around the team saying those moves are mostly financially motivated. And if the Niners wanted to shed more salary, their biggest chance is coming with Aiyuk. In the fine print of the four-year, $120 million contract extension Aiyuk signed last fall after a series of tense negotiations, there’s a $31 million injury guarantee that vests on April 1, according to Over The Cap.
