Credits: Newshub The number of Auckland homes targeted by gunmen continues to grow, with police responding to another incident last night. Police have confirmed a house on East Tāmaki Road in Ōtara was shot at shortly before 8pm last night. A police spokesperson said no one was injured, and they are encouraging anyone who was in the area who has information to get in touch.

An engine issue has forced a Shanghai-bound Air New Zealand Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flight to return to Auckland. The flight departed Auckland last night and had just passed over the Solomon Islands when it turned and headed for home. Air New Zealand chief operating officer Alex Marren confirmed the issue onboard.

Waikato Police on Wednesday said the possible human remains had been unearthed by an excavator during construction work at a property in Hillcrest. A scene guard was put in place while detectives worked to confirm if they were human remains and how old they may be.
