Hopewell Valley Regional School District (HVRSD) is gauging resident interest for full day universal pre-school. This district has released an anonymous survey and has asked people with young children who will be eligible for pre-school in the next five years to participate. The survey can be found on the school district’s website with a deadline by Jan. 30.

Members of the Cranbury Township Board of Education have re-elected Pramod Chivate to serve as school board president for 2025. Chivate, who has been on the school board for about 13 years, has held the position of school board president since 2022. He was re-elected to the nine-member school board during the board’s annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 8. Board member Katherine Lara nominated Chivate for president.

With the new year underway, Hopewell Borough swore in Debra Stuhler and Anthony Fuller for their three-year terms on Borough Council. During the reorganization meeting on Jan. 2, Stuhler, who earned her third term on council in November, and Fuller, who secured his first term in the general election, were each given their oaths of office by Mayor Ryan Kennedy. Stuhler is looking forward to 2025. “We are going to have a great year,” she said.

Courtney Peters-Manning will serve another year as Hopewell Township mayor. During the Hopewell Township Committee’s reorganization meeting, fellow committee members unanimously voted for Peters-Manning to continue leading the governing body and township on Jan. 2. She previously served in the position for 2022 and 2024. Committeeman Kevin Kuchinski nominated Peters-Manning as mayor. There were no other nominations.

Anita Williams Galiano and Jacquie Genovesi will continue to lead the Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education as school board as board president, board vice president, respectively, in 2025. During the Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education reorganization meeting on Jan. 6, Genovesi nominated Williams Galiano for the position of school board president. No other board members were nominated. For the election of vice president, Williams Galiano nominated Genovesi for the position.
