EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Sunday, April 20, is a First Alert Weather Day. A strong upper-level storm system will be moving into the Central United States this weekend. This will bring chances for rain to the forecast starting as early as Good Friday. Mostly cloudy skies on Friday are expected with a few isolated showers possible.

EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - We’re in the 40s and 50s this morning, a warmer start to the day than we’ve had the last couple of days. We’ll see plentiful sunshine again today, warming temperatures into the upper 70s. A few places could make it into the low 80s this afternoon. Plan for a breezy day with south winds gusting into the 20 mph range this afternoon. Tomorrow, a cold front moves through the area, but not before we have highs in the low 80s.

EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - It’s another cold morning with temperatures in the 30s and 40s. You can plan for sunny afternoon with highs today in the 70s. The forecast for the rest of the week remains on track, highs near 80/in the 80s for most of the rest of the week. Winds will pick up tomorrow ahead of a front on Thursday, this front will not do much for us. The forecast remains dry through the coming weekend, rain possibly returning early next week.

EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Temperatures to start our Monday are in the 30s and 40s - our coldest morning in nearly three weeks! We’ll warm into the 60s this afternoon under sunny skies; it’ll be a well below normal day temperature-wise. High temperatures will briefly return to the 80s before a cold front moves through the area Thursday/Friday, dropping us back into the 70s for a day or two. There is no rain in this week’s forecast, with sunny/mainly sunny skies each day expected.

EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Scattered thunderstorms will continue this evening, mainly across Deep East Texas, before diminishing later tonight as the cold front finally advances through the region. All modes of severe weather remain possible within any stronger storms that may develop through the evening. Rainfall within these storms will be heavy at times, posing a localized flood risk for some areas. Once storms exit East Texas tonight, cloudy skies and a few showers will linger into Sunday.

Through the morning we’ll warm into the 80s, and then eventually the 90s this afternoon. Due to a front bisecting the area, we’ll see a spread in high temperatures today, generally warmer to the west and cooler to the east. Skies will trend mostly sunny for today, and through the rest of the week.
