TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Over the last 30 years, Tyler Pounds Airport averages 5.8″ of rain from May through early June. In 2025, we’ve received 9.3″ through June 10. A common question we’ve gotten this year is whether the last few weeks have been rainier than normal, and the answer is yes; however, you may remember last year was just as wet (actually wetter with 9.8″). The wetter May and early June can tell us a few things about how the next few weeks and the rest of the summer may go.

East Texas (KLTV) - A First Alert Weather Day is now in effect for Memorial Day, May 26. The holiday weekend will be off to a dry and warm start with highs on Saturday in the lower 90s. This dry streak will not last long as a slow moving upper-level disturbance and cold front combo will lead to increasing rain chances later Sunday and throughout the day Memorial Day (Monday, May 26).
