Patricia Krenwinkel, a former follower of cult leader Charles Manson who was convicted for her role in the murders of seven people during a two-day killing spree across Los Angeles in 1969, has been recommended for parole. It's the 16th time Krenwinkel has appeared before the parole board panel, and the second time parole has been recommended — the first being in 2022, before the decision was overturned by California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Specialised imagery equipment fitted to planes flying over flood-impacted NSW show the devastating impact the Mid North Coast floods have had on the state's farmland. Australian location intelligence firm Nearmap took the photos using plane-attached cameras, in order to produce more detailed pictures than what is typically possible with satellite imagery.

In fact, a Labor staffer could be overheard warning journalists their "bums would barely hit a seat" for the next seven days. Anthony Albanese will begin campaign day 29 in Victoria — it's THE state to watch on election night and just happens to be the state that Labor is perhaps most nervous about.
