That's the end of our live coverage for another very busy day in federal politics. Thanks as always for joining us!Just to quickly recap the day's events, Sussan Ley has been elected Liberal leader while Ted O'Brien has become deputy leader. Ley has vowed to take a "fresh approach" moving forward and says she believes government is best formed in the centre. The opposition leader says she will announce her shadow ministry soon, and that it will include people who did not support her leadership bid.

The prime minister has just wrapped up his press conference so let's take a look back at what he said. Anthony Albanese has unveiled his new ministry, with Michelle Rowland taking over from Mark Dreyfus as attorney-general, while Anne Aly will join cabinet. The prime minister says he's had a "constructive discussion" with outgoing minister Ed Husic, who called Richard Marles a "factional assassin" on Insiders yesterday. The PM says he's "proud" the Labor party room is made up of 57 per cent women.

The prime minister is announcing his ministry. Here's some of the appointments:Michelle Rowland will become Australia's new attroney-general, taking over from Mark Dreyfus. Mark Butler will remain as health minister but pick up the NDIS portfolio. Amanda Rishworth will become the employment and workplace relations minister. Tanya Plibersek will become the new social services minister.

Liberal senator Hollie Hughes says there was a complete lack of policy and economic narrative with the Liberal Party's election campaign. She's told ABC Radio National Breakfast that some people in the parliamentary team had little idea of what was going on. Hughes says she put forward policies to the Liberal Party's expenditure review committee last year, but she didn't hear back.
