WEST FARGO — Two events planned in early June will give residents the opportunity to enjoy local food and drinks while supporting other small businesses. "EAT+DRINK+SHOP+LEARN & SUPPORT LOCAL!!" at the Love Your Local Small Business Expo from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at Bonanzaville, 1531 Main Ave. N. in West Fargo. Over 70 small businesses will take part in the event that will feature samples, demonstrations and more. A number of food trucks will also be on hand.

FARGO — The future of a Target store proposed for the northwest quadrant of Interstate Highway 29 and 52nd Avenue South is now unclear. In February, the retailer's website listed the location as home to a future store, but that project has since been removed from the site. Target officials did not confirm the store or answer any other questions at the time. However, earlier this year, a Target official did apply for and was granted an off-sale liquor license for the proposed store.

FARGO — With an estimated worth of $1.2 billion, Gary Tharaldson is considered the richest person in North Dakota, according to "Forbes Richest Person In Every State 2025" list published May 4. The 79-year-old earned the bulk of his wealth as a hotel and real estate developer and founder of the Tharaldson Ethanol plant near Casselton.

MOORHEAD — A new owner has been secured for The Freez at 410 19th St. S. Brandee LeNoue of Moorhead has purchased the popular eatery and hopes to open Buddy's Parfait there in late May or early June. While LeNoue will retain many of the popular menu items, such as its chicken strips and taco in a bag, she does plan to make a few changes. The new menu will focus on freshly-made smash burgers, from meat purchased from a butcher that serves many Lakes-area eateries.
