The curls of smoke looked nothing like the images on TV. But as they reached from dry patches of leaves and earth, their subtlety felt sinister. DUBLIN — The man whose body was found in Dublin Lake on Friday afternoon has been identified as a 51-year-old Massachusetts resident, Dublin police said Saturday evening. Timothy Aeschliman, of Fitchburg, was found unresponsive by paddleboarders and was determined to be dead when first responders pulled him from the water, according to a news release issued by Dublin Police Chief Timothy Suokko. He was wearing a wetsuit and swimming cap, and police found his vehicle and shoes near the shore.

The filing period for an open seat on the Keene City Council is underway and will continue for another week. Registered voters in Ward 1, in the southeastern part of the city, have until Friday, May 24, at 4 p.m. to file their candidacy at City Hall. The spot on the 15-member council became vacant after Ward 1 Councilor Raleigh Ormerod resigned April 1, leading to a two-week filing period for his successor.
