Energy Minister Daryl Vaz says he's disturbed by complaints from customers of the Jamaica Public Service about an "unusual and major spike in electricity bills" sent to them by the company during the current billing cycle. Vaz is expected on Monday to formally write to the leadership of the independent regulatory body, the Office of Utilities Regulations (OUR), insisting on an investigation into multiple complaints about the issue.

Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel appears set to take the stage in Jamaica on December 31, 2024, which is expected to be his first post-prison performance since being released from the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre last month. He served 13 years for murder, a conviction that was eventually quashed by the Privy Council, which was followed by the local Court of Appeal ordering that he not be retried in the matter.

D'Lux Restaurant & Lounge was the second stop on the Wray & Nephew Paris Village train last week and the Loop team was 'Wray, Set, Go' for all the action in the French capital. The men's 110m hurdles was the hot ticket item and Rasheed Broadbell secured a bronze medal for Team Jamaica on August 8.
