The changes will give the Carmel City Council more input on the makeup of the board of directors, which has previously been appointed solely by the mayor. The city launched CCI and the market in 2017.

    The Carmel City Council on June 2 unanimously approved an ordinance capping the number of single-family rental homes in the city and creating a registry to track them. The ordinance limits rentals to 10 percent of homes within each neighborhood. A previous proposal to cap rentals at 10 percent citywide was removed from the final version. The measure requires landlords to register their rental properties and receive a permit from Carmel’s Department of Community Services.

    Officials gathered May 21 for a groundbreaking ceremony for Ardalan Plaza, a $19 million mixed-use project planned in the 300 block of W. Main Street.     The stated clerk of the Presbyterian Church in America announced he will retire after receiving backlash for inadvertently revealing the names of more than a dozen people he believes to be “scandalizers.”The Rev. Bryan Chapell, administrative head of the Presbyterian Church in America, held up the handwritten list of names during a May 20 appearance on The Gospel Coalition’s “Gospelbound” podcast. Chapell told podcast host Collin Hansen, TGC editor-in-chief, that he keeps the list on his desk.
