Deputy Daniel “Weston” Sherrer will be laid to rest Wednesday in Marion. A public service to honor and celebrate Sherrer took place during the morning and afternoon at Northmor High School near Galion, with former sheriff and current pastor Steve Brenneman officiating.

DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH) — Body camera footage shows the moments leading up to Ohio State women’s basketball coach Kevin McGuff being arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle impaired in Dublin last week. The 55-year-old’s defense attorney Rick Piatt represented McGuff in Dublin Mayor’s Court for an administrative license suspension hearing. Piatt pleaded not guilty on behalf of McGuff and asked that his driver’s license be reinstated.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — An Ohio State men’s soccer player is recovering after being shot off-campus early Sunday after an NCAA tournament victory. The team said that redshirt junior defender Nathan Demian, a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, was the victim of a shooting in the 200 block of Chittenden Avenue east of campus. Columbus police said the shooting occurred just before 2:30 a.m. when two vehicles were chasing each other with a person in one vehicle shooting toward the other.
