    DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH) — Body camera footage shows the moments leading up to Ohio State women’s basketball coach Kevin McGuff being arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle impaired in Dublin last week. The 55-year-old’s defense attorney Rick Piatt represented McGuff in Dublin Mayor’s Court for an administrative license suspension hearing. Piatt pleaded not guilty on behalf of McGuff and asked that his driver’s license be reinstated.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — An Ohio State men’s soccer player is recovering after being shot off-campus early Sunday after an NCAA tournament victory. The team said that redshirt junior defender Nathan Demian, a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, was the victim of a shooting in the 200 block of Chittenden Avenue east of campus. Columbus police said the shooting occurred just before 2:30 a.m. when two vehicles were chasing each other with a person in one vehicle shooting toward the other.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Doorbell cameras have been a game changer in helping police solve all kinds of crimes and the City of Columbus wants more residents to have this line of defense.  The city is giving away 700 Ring Doorbell cameras to eligible residents to help reduce crime, calling it the Porch Protection Program. The program will be funded by the American Rescue Plan and would give residents the ability to have real-time video of their property.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — As kickoff draws near for the Ohio State Buckeyes to take on the Marshall Thundering Herd, there are growing concerns about safety in the campus area following two Buckeye safety alerts sent out this week due to shootings in the area. Columbus police are searching for the people responsible for a shooting incident on North High Street near 11th Avenue on Wednesday night. They said no one was hit by gunfire, but a graduate student was injured by debris from the shooting.
