    ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Around 15 Lifescape Community Services volunteers work with Home Depot to plant garden boxes for older adults in need. Beginning at 8 a.m. May 29, Lifescape volunteers chose supplies and tools from Home Depot at 1580 W. Lane Road in Machesney Park to fill garden boxes with flowers or vegetable plants. Volunteers loaded up the supplies and brought them to the assigned homes, where they built and planted the boxes.

(WIFR) - The Rock River Valley Tooling and Machining Association apprentice graduation took place May 28 at Aldeen Golf Course in Rockford. 16 graduates received journeyman credentials in their respective four-year focus, including CNC Precision Machinist, Gear Cutting, Metal Fabricator/Welder or Tool and Die Maker. The graduates completed 600 hours of classroom related training at Rock Valley College and 8,000-10,000 hours of on-the-job training.
