Read our privacy notice. What a scorcher! A tad frustrating that I always seem to be chained to my desk whenever the weather is like this, and as soon as I try to go on a little British weekend away the heavens open. But this time the heatwave is apparently here to stay. So much to love in this issue.

CultureAnna van Praagh2 minutes agoFor this week’s cover I sat down with a personal hero of mine, Jarvis Cocker. And he didn’t disappoint. For those who weren’t born then, it’s hard to exaggerate what a vibe London was in Pulp’s 1990s heyday. Pulp, Suede, Blur and Oasis stormed the charts and all the front pages, the YBA’s Sensation exhibition changed everything we thought about art and Tony Blair won a landslide election. The world feels like a much more complicated place these days.
