    BOSTON — The Glen Meadow Park Little League field and Lynnfield Middle School fitness room may be getting face lifts, thanks to a House Minority Leader Bradley H. Jones, Jr. (R-North Reading) who secured preliminary approval this week for $120,000 in funding earmarks for Lynnfield as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 House budget proposal. The funding provides for $45,000 for the field upgrades and another $75,000 for a new fitness room at the middle school.

    More than 100 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and emptied their toolboxes at the annual Lynnfield Rotary Club’s Build a Bed event Saturday morning at Lynnfield High School. The sounds of hammering, sanding and happy chatter filled the cafeteria, as teams worked to complete 26 wood-framed twin beds. The group needed only 90 minutes before it was mission accomplished.

    Residents packed the middle school on April 28 to weigh in on 21 warrant articles at the Town Meeting.  That is, when they finally got into the building. With 10 minutes to go before the 7 p.m. start of the meeting, the line to enter the building stretched all the way back to the Town Common at the intersection of Main Street and South Common Street. Forty minutes later, the line was still backed up, according to Town Moderator Stephen Walsh.
