LYNN – Pickering Middle School’s Harper McGarvey was nominated for the METG Musical Theater Awards for Best Performance in a Featured Role in March, a first for the school’s theater program. McGarvey is a chipper, well-spoken 7th grader who, freshly entering middle school, decided to give acting a shot. When she saw the school offered a theater program, she thought: “Oh! Yeah, why not?”“I’ve always been a theatrical person,” McGarvey said.

MARBLEHEAD — Most young adults graduating from high school are not sure what comes next after they walk across the stage. But that is not the case for Shawn Stolarz, a talented artist from Marblehead who has been practicing for this moment for years. “I haven’t technically gone to college yet, but I’ve painted for like 20,000 hours because it’s all I do. I have always loved art, and it’s just always been what I enjoy doing,” Stolarz said. All that practice has led him to some great opportunities.

On the evening of June 18, racist graffiti on a curb on Thomas Road was reported to police. The graffiti was documented by the Lynnfield Police and painted over per protocol by the Department of Public Works. Police are investigating. Lynnfield town administrator, Robert Dolan, said that because the situation is still under investigation, he does not have a comment on the incident.
